INTRODUCTION TO OIL PAINTING

SEPTEMBER 16TH - SUNBIRD STUDIOS - AIRLIE BEACH - 9.30AM TO 3PM

Open to all levels — whether you're a complete beginner who’s never painted before or an experienced artist — this INTRODUCTION TO OIL PAINTING will teach you how to use mediums, a la prima techniques, glasing and ‘wet on wet’ techniques with oil painting.

You’ll also learn colour theory and mark making techniques with oil.

  • 5 hours of class with 30min lunch break

  • Introduction to different oil painting techniques

Bring your own materials - You will have to get your own canvas and come along with a photo reference of the image you’d like to paint.

Linseed oil and Solvent will be provided with some oil colours paint however it is strongly advised that you come with your own colour paints who matches your photo reference as we might not have the pigment colours your require for your visual.

So bring your brushes, canvas and some oil colour of your choice (Gamblin is my favorite brand for it, but other brands such as Windsor and Newton, even Art Spectrum or Ironlak will do)
